The dream

Dreams. How many times in my life, have dreams showed something significant?
I had a dream last night. A dream of war.
Not just any war.

but the war in Afghanistan...

I dreamed i was there, a witness to the horror and fear surrounding the land that every breath was infused with them.

Most vividly, i dreamed of the children...

I witnessed the enemy collected and gathered all the young children, in a space, a muddy field, barren land...

and they were murdered. Mass annihilation of the children in Afghanistan.

I witnessed horror that befell them.
....their hands and legs were chopped off... while still alive,
and were left to bleed to death.

I saw a father,
....unwilling to let go of his child,
and then the enemies came,
and chopped of the child's body, while the father was still clinging on to him,

and all was left, was the father, holding his child's head, crying in grief.

In the dream, I was, unprepared to witness the horror.
I managed to escape to somewhere safe, back to the ship that brought all of us (a group of journalists) there.

The fear felt so real.
That in my heart i said, "Allah, i was unprepared". "We will all die here".

I wrote in a book, what i saw. I remembered thinking, the whole world needs to know what is happening here. And it will be my duty to see through that this piece of writing reaches them.

And then i asked a man in the ship,
"If we die here, is it 'mati syahid'?"
He said yes.

and syahid is the best death that Allah swt can give to His servant.
In that dream, i accepted the fate.
To Allah i said, "I am ready. To die in your service."

and i woke up.

All these while, how i've been ignorant... How i've looked at the pictures of people, my fellow Islam brothers and sisters got killed to protect their land, their religion. To protect Allah swt's dignity. How i feel helpless, clueless in helping them.

And now,
i've been given a glimpse of how, if i were to fulfill my duty.. i should have been there. To fight
with them.

And give my life in the name of Allah swt.

How many of us, are willing to let go of everything else, and go to war against the enemies of Islam, and give our life in His name?

It is difficult.

yet right now, even if it is just a dream...
in another part of this earth,

another fellow brother and sister is being tortured and killed in the hands of the enemies...

Forgive me, Allah.

    dear sister,

the ancient lands of Khurasan (today Afghanistan) and As-Sham (Levant - today Palestine Syria Jordan and Lebanon) are what our beloved Rasul S.A.W said the land of Jihad and Ribat. its were and still the gardens of Mujahideen and Shudada' - martyrs.

to achieve Shahadah - martydoom, is the best blesing bestowed from Allah to His servant. the Shahabah always consider the Syahid is the best among them as the Shuhada' on the day of Al-Badr.

but the problem today is many Muslims themselves shun away from talking this topic.

there are five areas in Islam are neglected by Muslims today. Jihad, ruling by Shariah, Al-Walaa' wa Al-Baraa' (love, loyalty and hate, disavowed because of Allah, Tawhid and Khilafah (Islamic system of governance).

its good you studied these absence obligations and applied it as much as you can in your life.

i will talk about these more when time permit InsyaAllah.

make Duaa' to Allah a lot.

    Wasalam.

    dear sister,

yes you're right. there are many things for us, you and me, to learn. as the saying goes 'learn from cradle to grave'.

and i'm also pray you, me and those who are sincere from this Ummah will be good enough to learn and get the essences of Iman. InsyaAllah.

there are something i forgot to mention yesterday. its about the dream itself.

Our beloved RasullulLah S.A.W. and his Shahabah gave a great deal of attention of dreams and its interpretation. Rasul S.A.W. frequently asking his Shahabah about their dreams and told them his own dream and its interpretation.

there are several reasons for this particular thing. dream was mention in Al Qur'an especially in Surah Yusuf where the story of Yusuf A.S. was told. dreams played significant part in that story.

then in the Sunnah of of our Rasul S.A.W dream also play the significant role. we know the Azan - our prayer call, was revealed in dreams of Shahabah's. also the command to make Hajj in later life of our Rasul S.A.W was in the form of dream.

and in Sirah about the Maulid (birth) of RasullulLah S.A.W, his mother dream about her still unborn child prior to gave birth.

and many Ahadith (s- Hadith) talk about dream. first dream is 46 part of what remain from Nubuwwah (prophethood). this Hadith was narrated in Tarmidzi. what its means is the chain of Nubuwwah was sealed by RasullulLah S.A.W. there will be no other Nabi after him. its means there is no more Wahyu (revelation) sent down. what remain is dream.

why 46 part of Nubuwwah? before the commencement of Wahyu, for a period of six months, RasululLah S.A.W would see dreams at night, that would be as clear as crystal the next day. this shows that the beginning of Wahyu was the seeing of Ru'yaa As-Saalihah (good and true dreams). and since the period was for six months, when calculated as a fraction of the total period of Nubuwwah (prophethood - 23years), it works out to 1/46. that is why Ru'yaa As-Saalihah is said to be 'one forty-sixth' of Nubuwwah.

this of course does not mean that seeing good and true dreams awards you with 1/46 of Nubuwwah. the purpose of this hadith is merely to state the virtue of good dreams, and to denote that some dreams do have a meaning and message.

thus, dreams doesn't change, repeal or add anything to Shariah of Islam. its not a revelation to change Shariah.

in another Hadith, Rasul S.A.W gave the indication that the truthful dream of the Mu'minin (believers) is one minor sign of the End of Time. when the Final Hour aproaching nearer, the believers wil have the truthful dreams. the level of how truthful the dreams are based on how truthful one's word.

dream have 3 types. truthful dream from Allah (sometime its doesn't mean yee mong), evil dream from syaithan (its like mok mong lor), and natural dream that have no meaning.

and remember to lie about dream is major sin. we can't fabricate dream that not happened and narrating it to others. there are Hadith about this that are Sahih (sound).

for more information you can refer Riyadhus As-Solihin of An-Nawawi in the chapter of virtues of dream.

if you have something to ask, feel free to ask me. InsyaAllah i will visit your blog when i'm available.

    Wasalam
